Welcome to all new and current subscribers! Thank you for being an integral part of YOUR ezine!

I am now 5 weeks away from obtaining my Associate's degree in Criminal Justice! I can't believe it! I am so happy... so excited for the future... there are going to be so many new opportunities opening up for me... I can't wait!

Although I'm not done with my schooling quite yet. See, I want to become a CSI (crime scene investigator) and in order to get my certificate that will allow me to do that, I have to have a bachelor of science degree... so, I will be continuing my education.

Yes, I know... a college degree doesn't mean crap, these days. J.O.Bs are not secure like they used to be... and having your own business IS the way to go. However, this is something that interests me. I was thinking of using the education to get "certified", and then perhaps becoming a freelance csi. You don't hear too much about them... but what police department/crime lab wouldn't be able to use another set of eyes or another lab tech to solve a case?

That is my dream job... being a freelancer. :)

Top 5 On-Site SEO Advantages

Businesses are continually challenged by the ever evolving nature of the Internet and the devices people use to access it. Search engine optimization has become an invaluable marketing for businesses of all sizes. It has even spawned a new profession for experts in perfecting webpages to be picked up by search engines.

Three giants "Google, Yahoo and Bing" draw the vast majority of Internet users, and in order to survive, businesses must adapt their marketing strategies to these search engines algorithms. A top ranking by Google is as valuable as a full page ad in the Yellow Pages was a decade ago.

There s no sure-fire formula to prime a webpage so that it will get a top ranking from a search engine, but following the basic principles of on page SEO "the art of correctly placing a keyword everywhere on a page from the title to the body copy" can optimize a page as much as possible.

Doing on page SEO right brings major marketing benefits for businesses, and certain strategies can help send a webpage straight to the top of search engine rankings.

Content is Key

Google is the 800-pound gorilla in the room when it comes to SEO rankings. It simply can t be ignored. Google s recently revised algorithms place a new emphasis on checking the quality of the page, as well as the quantity of a keyword. Webpages can t get top billing anymore simply for repeating a keyword over and over again. Proper on page SEO places the keywords at exactly the right spots, repeated exactly the right amount of times, so that Google is assured that a webpage is both on topic and of high quality.

Make Content Unique


Search engines are increasingly being keyed into awareness of spam-like content on websites. Too much of it will significantly harm a webpage s ranking. This means that there is such a thing as too much SEO. A keyword must be mentioned enough times to guarantee that the page really is about that topic, but few enough times so that it seems the keyword is used naturally and organically. On page SEO shows the best number of times to use a keyword and the best placement for it. Giving your webpage s users specific, useful content, rather than generic information, will both please customers and catch the attention of search engines.

Page Reviews

Reviews can make or break a business, and their power is only getting greater with the growth of third-party sites that let users leave their own thoughts and impressions of companies. However, the new search engine algorithms are starting to take into account customer testimonial and review pages on a business s website. Proper on page SEO placement of these pages is therefore important. The hReview format lets search engines know what content a page contains, ensuring that they count a business s customer reviews in its SEO rankings.

Less Need for Page Advertising

The benefits of on page SEO can be cumulative. Good on page SEO improves a business s ranking and, therefore, reduces its need for paid advertising, which lessens the quality of the site and lowers its ranking. Replacing paid advertising with quality, SEO content in turn helps the business s bottom line. Good-quality content almost always results in more traffic on the site and more sales and leads for the business.

Contact Your Local Business

Search engine algorithms search for contact information to ensure the credibility of a site. Using the hcard and vcard formulas properly formats a business s contact information, bringing it to the attention of search engines. That will boost a website s SEO performance, ensuring that customers are directed to the best way to contact a business.

5 Things I Hate About Network Marketing

So you have just received a phone call, or an email, or bumped into someone you know in the store and you ve got that feeling you just know what is coming; they are going to ask you something and it has got you cringing already. You just know it. There is that look in their eye and it is not going to be a, "How is your weekend going?" or "How are the wife and kids?" It is that maniacal gleam that is giving them away.

Topping My List of Things I Hate About Network Marketing

Now, before you tell me what it is, you had better be prepared to prove the program or product is legitimate. We all know the internet is filled to capacity with questionable material, and I am talking about the stuff that is unsafe for kids. I want a solid company, with a real and useful product or service. I do not need pie-in-the-sky promises, just potential.

Second On My Network Marketing Dislike List

It is obvious, or should be, that if I am looking for an online business, I want to actually be able to do it online. In other words, I have to be able to do it AT home. Like you, I am already up to my eyeballs with personal and business day-to-day life. I have responsibilities. So working from home – exclusively - is a must have on my list. Which leads me to #3.

No Meetings

Trust me, if you tell me about your program and then, in passing, mention meetings or webinars or teleconferences on a nightly basis, you have just lost me. I do not have the time or patience for having to go anywhere or scheduling my day around when someone wants me to just pop in and listen to another presentation. If, indeed, I have joined, believe me, I already know why I joined. I do not need to haul my buns to some conference room in the next town or even locally. Forget that idea completely.

And While We Are On The No Meetings Subject

If your program involves me trying to convince other people that attending meetings is going to be good for them, you do not know me at all. I like my friends just fine. Forcing them to go to meetings will no’t help your cause in the slightest. I have tons of friends, and love them all - and I want to keep it that way.

Network Marketing Conventions? No.

While conventions may fall, in your mind, under meetings, the ones I am talking about are of the rah-rah type. You may know what I mean. A bunch of people, pumped up to the point where you are wondering who has spiked the punch. All shiny eyed, listening to this person reaching that level, awards, more sales pitches (to people who are already in), and the like. In fact, I am so against conventions my head spins even considering it. If your program involves me buying a plane ticket, booking a hotel room, and being subjected all weekend to endless mobs, I want nothing to do with whatever you are about to pitch me.

And Last But Not Least On My Network Marketing "Hate" List Is...

Do not tell me your program is so easy and "all I have to do" is make a list of everyone I know and contact them. Yes, that also fits into the 'I will not drag anyone anywhere' category, but it is different. I may not need to convince them to listen to webinars, or show up for meetings, but I also do not want, nor should I need, to rely on my own personal contacts to grow a business online. The program itself must be designed to do that for me. I understand I am going to need to do my share, but I do not want my success hinging on whether or not I am willing to alienate everyone I know.

So there you have it. All the hallmarks of a poor choice 'opportunity' as I investigate the numerous possibilities available. Keep it simple. Show me results in a reasonable amount of time, and I am in. Just make sure you know ahead of time what network marketing tactics I will nott stand for - and who knows, you just might have another rep.
